Digital Mileage Correction
What is digital mileage recalibration and digital mileage correction?
Most modern cars are fitted with electronic dashboards and digital odometers/speedometers to reduce manufacturing costs. However these digital mileage monitors can easily be corrupted (leading to low accuracy) by electrical pulses that are stored in the vehicle’s EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory). This can happen on any type of car, van or bike with a digital mileage display. If you have a newer Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Ford, Peugeot or any other make you may have experienced this. This is when digital mileage correction can be the only answer to your problem.
What Causes Your Mileage to Become Inaccurate or Corrupted?
Corruption can happen as a result of the following issues:
- The vehicle battery was discharged and then jump-started
- Dashboard incurs electrical faults
- Dashboard damage in a collision or through vandalism
If any of the above happens then the mileage displayed on your digital dash can be inaccurate or totally incorrect, a qualified expert should then therefore undertake digital mileage correction to remedy the problem.
